Laadam 2024 stands as a monumental Siddha Day celebration, intricately focused on raising awareness about cancer. After months of meticulous preparation, overflowing with innovative ideas and spirited discussions, the event unfolded on January 6th and 7th, 2024, encompassing a myriad of initiatives to drive the cause forward.
The event commenced with a vibrant array of activities, combining the efforts of various sponsors and esteemed guests such as Mr. Vijay Vasanth MP, Adv. Rajesh Kumar MLA, Thiru. Palaprajapathi Adihalar, Fr. Godwin Selva Justus, Fr. Aruldhas, and Mr. Al Ameen, along with event coordinators Dr. Vignesh Veerabhadran and Mr. Jenkins.
The inaugural day commenced with a spirited Cycle Rally led by MLA Adv. Rajesh Kumar, starting from Grace Hospital Kaliyakkavilai and culminating at the event venue, CSI Church ground Nadaikavu, covering a distance of 9km. Participants of all ages pedaled with enthusiasm, setting a tone of unity and determination.
The event featured a diverse range of attractions, including the thrilling Cancer Awareness Cycle Rally, Organic Food competition for students, Kalari Fight Exhibition, Slow Cycle Race, and an exhibition of rare herbal plants. Notably, Master Dhinesh emerged victorious in the Slow Cycle Race, while Grace College clinched the top spot in Fireless Cooking, exemplifying excellence.
The Organic Food & Product stalls, numbering around 10, offered a variety of sustainable alternatives, from herbal teas to handcrafted goods, emphasizing the importance of healthy living and conscious consumption.
The second day continued the meaningful journey with a Free Medical Camp, benefitting over 300 individuals in need. Acts of generosity, like the donation of Rs. 10,000 for a cancer patient by Mr. Revanth Malto and Mrs. Reshma Revanth, exemplified the compassionate spirit of the attendees.
The event culminated in an exclusive Kalari fight show, where 50 participants demonstrated traditional martial arts techniques, captivating the audience with their prowess and fostering a sense of tradition and discipline.
